Sandals

Deuteronomy / Devarim 29:4
And I led you through the desert for forty years; the clothes on your back did not wear out, the sandals did not wear out on your feet;וָאוֹלֵךְ אֶתְכֶם אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה בַּמִּדְבָּר לֹא־בָלוּ שַׂלְמֹתֵיכֶם מֵעֲלֵיכֶם וְנַעַלְךָ לֹא־בָלְתָה מֵעַל רַגְלֶךָ׃

Ingredients as shown:

  • Fruit Leather

Tools:

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Open fruit leather, and fold back to back, without removing plastic backing (consult with your Rav if considering doing this on Shabat).

2. Cut in half, then cut in rough sandle bottom shapes, keeping the straps to make straps.

3. Add straps as shown. Depending on the thickness of the “leather,” you may want to roll the fruit leather pieces to make thicker straps (as in the left example).
