Ingredients as Shown:
- 1 large bell pepper, any color
- 1 mini cucumber
Tools:
- Small, sharp knife
Instructions:
FOR WELL: Decide which type to make
SIMPLE VERSION: Cut stem end off pepper.
THIN TOP: Make two parallel cuts to the non-stem end of the pepper, then cut crosswise to remove the sides, as shown.
THICK TOP (keeps things from falling into the well:
Cut parallel lines on either side of the stem. Cut off the sides to make well. Then carefully cut the soft pith to remove seeds.
FOR BUCKET:
- Cut cucumber to the size wanted. Keep in mind that you will need to account for the handle.
- Cut parallel lines from one end, then cut the side to take out section for handle.
3. Optional: to hollow out the handle, lay the cucumber on your work surface, with the handle part on the edge of a cutting board (to support the handle). Carefully hollow out to create handle.
4. Optional: If you want to be able to set the bucket on the edge of the “well,” carefully cut a piece out of the bottom slightly wider than the pepper edge.
