Timbrel Eggs

Exodus/Shmot 15:20And Miriam the prophet, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand, and led all of the women in dancing with timbrels.וַתִּקַּח מִרְיָם הַנְּבִיאָה אֲחוֹת אַהֲרֹן אֶת־הַתֹּף בְּיָדָהּ וַתֵּצֶאןָ כׇל־הַנָּשִׁים אַחֲרֶיהָ בְּתֻפִּים וּבִמְחֹלֹת׃

Note: this snack cannot be made on Shabbat.

Ingredients as shown:

  • 1 egg (or as many as you want)
  • Oil (spray works)
  • 1 or more tomatoes, sliced
  • Olives, sliced
  • Salt or spice mix, as desired.

Tools:

  • Frying pan
  • Bowl
  • Fork
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Instructions:

  1. Heat pan, spray with oil. Mix egg, pour into pan, fry until solid (flip or cook on low and cover). Slide onto plate.

2. Slice tomatoes and olives.

3. Place around the egg on the plate. I tucked the tomato slices under the edge of the egg, and put the olive slices above the egg, but you can do it as you wish.
