17:23And it was in the morning, when Moshe came to the Tent of Testimony, and he found that the staff belonging to Aharon, of the tribe of Levi, was blooming.  And the blossom had budded, and had produced almonds.

Ingredients as shown:

  • 1 Pretzel Rod
  • Chocolate chips for melting (about 1 tablespoon)
  • Almond slices (can substitute pumpkin seeds)
  • 2 golden raisins

Tools:

  • Microwave or warm water (this may not be the version you want to make on Shabbat)
  • Heatproof bowl
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Put chocolate chips in heatproof bowl. Place above warm water and stir until melted, or microwave for a few seconds at a time, stirring in between, until melted.
  2. Dip the fat edge of the almond slices in the chocolate and arrange 5 at a time in the shape of a flower.

(this image shows the use of powdered sugar to bond, but it is the same idea)

Repeat until you have all of the flowers you want to make.

3. If your golden raisins are too large for the flower, cut them in half.

4. After waiting a minute until the chocolate cools, dip an edge of the golden raisin in the chocolate and place on the rod.
