Rainbow – Parsha Nosher

Bereishit / Genesis 9:9	And I am creating my covenant with you and with your descendants,	וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵקִים אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְאֶת־זַרְעֲכֶם אַחֲרֵיכֶם׃
9:10	And with every living creature that is with you: bird and mamal, and every animal that lives on land, of all those that came out of the ark with you, to every animal that lives on earth.	וְאֵת כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם בָּעוֹף בַּבְּהֵמָה וּבְכׇל־חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ אִתְּכֶם מִכֹּל יֹצְאֵי הַתֵּבָה לְכֹל חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ׃
9:11	I have established my covenant with you: I will never again destroy every living being with a flood, and a flood will never again destroy the earth.	וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת כׇּל־בָּשָׂר עוֹד מִמֵּי הַמַּבּוּל וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עוֹד מַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ׃
9:12	And G-d said: This is my covenant that I am making between myself and every living being with you, forever.	וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים זֹאת אוֹת־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי נֹתֵן בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם לְדֹרֹת עוֹלָם׃
9:13	I have put (“given”) my bow in the cloud as a sign of the covenant between myself and the earth.	אֶת־קַשְׁתִּי נָתַתִּי בֶּעָנָן וְהָיְתָה לְאוֹת בְּרִית בֵּינִי וּבֵין הָאָרֶץ׃
9:14	And it will be, when my clouds cloud over the earth, my bow will be visible in the cloud.	וְהָיָה בְּעַנְנִי עָנָן עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְנִרְאֲתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן׃
9:15	And I will remember the covenant between me, you, and ever living being. And there will never again be a flood that kills every living being.	וְזָכַרְתִּי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אֲשֶׁר בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכׇל־בָּשָׂר וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עוֹד הַמַּיִם לְמַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת כׇּל־בָּשָׂר׃
9:16	And the bow will be in the cloud, and you will see it, in order to remember the eternal covenant between G-d and every living soul in every creature on the earth.	וְהָיְתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן וּרְאִיתִיהָ לִזְכֹּר בְּרִית עוֹלָם בֵּין אֱלֹהִים וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכׇל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
9:17	And G-d said this to Noah: This is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and every living being on the entire earth.	וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ זֹאת אוֹת־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר הֲקִמֹתִי בֵּינִי וּבֵין כׇּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃ {פ}

Ingredients: Rainbow fruits, veggies, or candy (mix and match; do not feel you MUST have every color), plus clouds. Peppers, carrots, and tomatoes all come in multi-packs with a variety of colors. Cut into thin pieces if possible, otherwise you will have lots of food go to waste (unless you are making a serving dish).

Though I used bananas in the fruit illustration for clouds, you can also use whipped cream or Greek yogurt. If making a veggie rainbow, the Greek Yogurt might have Ranch mix added; yum!

Though I made the rainbow on a rectangular surface, I recommend using a round plate. This will make shaping the rainbow MUCH easier.
