Numbers / Bamidbar 19:1 | And G-d said to Moses and Aaron: | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר׃ |
19:2 | This is the statute of the Torah, which G-d decreed by saying “Tell the Children of Israel to bring you an unblemished red cow, which has no flaw, which has never borne a burden (e.g. been harnessed) | זֹאת חֻקַּת הַתּוֹרָה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהֹוָה לֵאמֹר דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִקְחוּ אֵלֶיךָ פָרָה אֲדֻמָּה תְּמִימָה אֲשֶׁר אֵין־בָּהּ מוּם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־עָלָה עָלֶיהָ עֹל׃ |
19:3 | Give it to Eliezer the Cohen, who will take it outside of the camp and slaughter it. | וּנְתַתֶּם אֹתָהּ אֶל־אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְהוֹצִיא אֹתָהּ אֶל־מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה וְשָׁחַט אֹתָהּ לְפָנָיו׃ |
19:5 | And he will burn the cow completely, including the skin, the meat, the blood, and the dung. | וְשָׂרַף אֶת־הַפָּרָה לְעֵינָיו אֶת־עֹרָהּ וְאֶת־בְּשָׂרָהּ וְאֶת־דָּמָהּ עַל־פִּרְשָׁהּ יִשְׂרֹף׃ |
19:9 | And a (ritually pure) man will take the ashes of the cow, and will put them in a ritually pure place outside of the camp. And they shall be kept for ritual cleansing from ritual impurity for the congregation of the children of Israel. | וְאָסַף אִישׁ טָהוֹר אֵת אֵפֶר הַפָּרָה וְהִנִּיחַ מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה בְּמָקוֹם טָהוֹר וְהָיְתָה לַעֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמִשְׁמֶרֶת לְמֵי נִדָּה חַטָּאת הִוא׃ |
19:11 | One who touches a corpse will be impure for seven days. | הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּמֵת לְכׇל־נֶפֶשׁ אָדָם וְטָמֵא שִׁבְעַת יָמִים׃ |
19:12 | He will be cleansed with it (the ashes) on the third day, and on the seventh day he will be purified. … | הוּא יִתְחַטָּא־בוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי יִטְהָר …׃ |
19:16 | And anyone who touches the body of one who fell to the sword in the field, or who touches a body, or the bone of a person, or a grave, will be ritually impure for seven days. | וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִגַּע עַל־פְּנֵי הַשָּׂדֶה בַּחֲלַל־חֶרֶב אוֹ בְמֵת אוֹ־בְעֶצֶם אָדָם אוֹ בְקָבֶר יִטְמָא שִׁבְעַת יָמִים׃ |
19:21 | This statute will be binding upon you forever. | וְהָיְתָה לָהֶם לְחֻקַּת …׃ |
Ingredients as shown:
- 1 red pepper
- 1 cherry tomato
- 1 almond sliver or sunflower seed or pumpkin seed
- 1 sliver of black olive
Tools:
- Knife
Instructions:
- Following the natural shape of the pepper, cut one part for the body of the cow, and then two more for the foreleg and hind leg.
- Place cherry tomato in front of the “cow” body. Stick in almond sliver of substitute for the “ear,” and a sliver of black olive for the “eye.”
