Numbers/Bamidbar 13:23 | And they reached the river of Eshkol, and from there they cut a single cluster of grapes (“eshkol” in Hebrew). And two men carried the grapes together on a pole, while another carried the pomegranates and another carried the figs. | וַיָּבֹאוּ עַד־נַחַל אֶשְׁכֹּל וַיִּכְרְתוּ מִשָּׁם זְמוֹרָה וְאֶשְׁכּוֹל עֲנָבִים אֶחָד וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ בַמּוֹט בִּשְׁנָיִם וּמִן־הָרִמֹּנִים וּמִן־הַתְּאֵנִים׃ |
13:24 | This place was (then) called “Eshkol” in reference to the cluster of grapes the Children of Israel cut from there.
13:25 | And they returned from scouting out the land at the end of forty days. |
13:26 | And they walked, and came to Moshe and Aharon and the entire community of the Children of Israel, to the desert of Paran Kadisha, conveyed their report, and showed them the fruit of the land.
13:27 | And they told him, and said: We came to the land to which you sent us. It is flowing with milk and honey, and these are its fruits.
