| Genesis 33:4 | And Eisav ran toward him [Ya’akov] and hugged him, and fell upon his neck, and kissed him. And they both cried. | וַיָּרׇץ עֵשָׂו לִקְרָאתוֹ וַיְחַבְּקֵהוּ וַיִּפֹּל עַל־צַוָּארָו וַיִּשָּׁקֵהוּ וַיִּבְכּוּ׃ |
Ingredients as Shown:
- 2 large marshmallows
- Powdered sugar
Tools:
- Clean, dry scissors
- Parchment paper (ideally) to avoid accidental sticking, optional
Instructions: Between each cut or every few cuts, dip scissors in powdered sugar. See “About Marshmallows and Cutting Them.”
- Cut one of the large marshmallows in half, through the flat part of the marshmallow. Place on your work surface with sticky, inner side up.
2. To make the arms, cut the rounded edge from each side. Place sticky side UP on your surface. Repeat with other marshmallow half.
3. Trim the top and bottom flat parts from the center part to expose sticky side. Place sticky side UP on your surface. Repeat with other side. The new rectangles are torsos.
4. Taking the second marshmallow, cut off round edge from two opposing sides, place on your work surface sticky side UP.
4. Cut then remaining part in half lengthwise, then in half again lengthwise the other way, to form legs and expose sticky surfaces.
5. Cut one of the side pieces in half crosswise to form two heads. Eat the other side piece or save it in case you need it. Put on your surface, sticky side UP.
6. Cut top edge off the “legs” to expose sticky edge.
7. Take one of the cut “heads,” pinch the newly cut surface to form a neck. Take one torso, press the neck to the top of the torso, MAKING SURE THE STICKY PART OF THE TORSO IS the “front,” and the NON-STICKY PART OF THE “FACE” is “front.” Add legs, sticky exposed part to sticky exposed part. The sticky part of the torso needs to be in front so the brothers stay hugging.
8. Place brothers torso to torso, separating legs so they don’t fall over.
9. Add arms to each side to create embrace.
